The Tesla Roadster All Electric Sports Car

The Tesla Roadster is an innovative sports car manufactured by Tesla Motors. The Tesla is unique in the automobile industry in that is a 100% electric vehicle. Lithium-ion batteries are used to power the vehicle. A full charge to the battery takes about 3.5 hours.

There are many important features that you will want to consider when it comes to the Tesla, features that continue to make the Tesla a very attractive automobile for people from all walks of life.

First of all, when it comes to electric vehicles, one of the more common complaints historically has been that you really could not drive these autos very far on one charge. In fact, the Tesla allows a driver to operate the car upwards to 245 miles between charges.

Second, another complaint that has been made about electric vehicles was that these vehicles were lacking a bit in styling. In fact, there have been some electric vehicles that seemed to completely sacrifice style in the manufacturing process. Such is not the case with the Tesla.

The Tesla is a very attractive and smartly designed vehicle – a sports car that rivals the design of any other similar type of car on the market.

Third, the Tesla is very economical to operate. With gasoline prices striking all time highs in many places around the world, the Tesla – again, a 100% electrically powered vehicle – can be operated for two cents U.S. per mile. You would be hard pressed finding any vehicle – including a motor scooter – that you can operate this cheaply.

Fourth, another of the concerns associated with electric vehicles historically was the fact that they did not perform particularly well on a number of levels. For example, these vehicles were very slow in getting up to even a moderate traveling speed.

The Tesla, on the other hand, can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in less than 4 seconds– quite like other top performing traditional vehicles in production and operation today.

The Tesla Roadster is an award winning vehicle. Indeed, the Tesla has received some major automobile and other awards and distinctions in recent years. Included amongst the awards is the one given by Forbes that designates the car that best lives up to its hype. What this mean is that a great deal of good press has been issued concerning the Tesla – and the Tesla has lived up to this ever growing reputation.

Considering the stylish design and the extremely low (again, two cents U.S. per mile) cost to operate the Tesla, it is an extremely affordable motor vehicle.

Indeed, on many levels the Tesla Roadster is comparably priced with similar types of traditionally powered vehicles. But, again, when you factor in the cheap operating cost of this sterling motor vehicle, the Tesla over time proves to be a bargain purchase for you.

If you are interested in a Tesla Roadster of your very own, you need to keep in mind that there is a rather significant waiting list of people desiring to own this electric sports car.

You can't just go and take a Tesla for a test drive, this special privilege is only available to people who have ordered one. A person can reserve a Tesla today for $5,000, but they won't get it until late 2008 or possibly 2009.
