Some cars look sporty. Some of the great cars can trigger emotions in us that make us want to feel the power and the speed. The 2008 Audi S5 is both. It looks great and makes you want to put the metal to the pedal.
The 2008 Audi S5 has been built on emotions keeping in mind that emotions play a vital role when buying a coupe. The S5 is one of the special compositions by Audi that has subtle styling mixed with a smooth body and raw power.
The face of the car is dominated by the famous split grille, which can be found on most of the dynamic models by Audi. The curvaceous body with a smooth metallic finish makes the S5 coupe one of the most desirable car on the road. The S5 is oozing with elegance and grace even with the traditional muscular wheel arches.
It is the long wheelbase with the shorter overhangs that gives the S5 a lower and wider stance. This is complemented by the lean roof line, which is perfectly in-sync with the signature design principle of Audi. The signature design principle is a strategy that helps Audi to design their car by dividing it into two-thirds car body and one-third glass. The end result is the Audi S5, here for the entire world to see.
According to Walter de'Silva, head of Volkswagen Group Design the 2008 Audi A5 is the most beautiful car he has ever designed.
The interior of the S5 compliments it body with smooth and refined styling that has a velvety touch to it. The interior has a generous amount of seating space for four people while the steering wheel is laced in thick leather that looks impressive to the eye and is relaxing for the mind.
Then there is the all so familiar instrument panel with the speedometer and tachometer. The central console has the Audi MMI system also known as Multi Media Interface system. With creative progression in designing of their cars, Audi’s MMI system has also been refined and is highly advanced and completely intuitive.
Going to the back of the car, the S5 has 16 cubic feet trunk, which is bigger than that of the A4, which had only 13.4 cubic feet. You also have the option of folding the rear seats to increase the cargo capacity. The five-link front suspension is all-aluminum and is attached to a front sub-frame, which reduces any un-sprung weight and at the same time delivers well-balanced suspension geometry while improving the structural rigidity.
Among the reliable parts of the S5 are the 16-inch disc brakes that will make sure that you are always in control of the car. A 6-speed manual transmission helps the A5 to jump from 0-62mph in just 6 seconds while the top speed is 155mph. At the heart of this magnificent machine is the 3.2-liter V6 FSI direct injection engine that provides 261 horsepower.
