The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 is the latest addition to a powerful line of cars famous for performance. The new V-10 powered motor is sure to create a stir with sheer strength it can do from 0 to 60 mph in a little under four seconds. The power is obviously there, but can the features and price compare?
At first glance, there is little that separates the 2008 Dodge Viper apart from previous models. The hood has been slightly altered to allow more air induction, and to give a more aggressive appearance. A nice selection of interior colors await the buyer, unlike previous models that gave customers only black interior. Aside from these modest changes, the 2008 Dodge Viper is much like the previous models but there is no need to change a design if it’s already practically perfection.
New brake calipers can give speed demons a little more confidence. Traveling at high speeds is quite dangerous, as braking times are severely affected by the extra power needed to stop the moving vehicle. With the improved calipers, drivers can go from 60 mph to 0 in less than 100 feet. To put this in a clearer context, the 2008 Dodge Viper has been tested to go from 0-100 miles per hour, and back to zero again, in around 12 seconds. Clearly, the power and speed of the Viper is matched by few.
Horsepower maniacs will be glad to know that the 2008 Dodge Viper packs a whopping 600 horsepower under the hood. This was made possible through better cooling, such as the new hood that offers better air induction. New valves, cylinder heads, and other components also help in the horsepower feat. The airflow of the engine has also dramatically increased as much as 20% from the newly designed air intake. What the 2008 Dodge Viper may lack in fuel efficiency, it makes up for in engine and heat efficiency.
To add to the customization options, the 2008 Dodge Viper will come in five new distinct colors. An interesting color dubbed “Snakeskin Green” will be sure to attract a lot of attention. Three wheel designs will be available. The 5-spoke polished forged-aluminum wheels are standard but you can also order H-spoke or the new Razor wheels, any of which will look impressive on the Viper. Bezel and console finishes are also available, for those interested. Add all of these customizations to the ability to decide on an interior color, and you get a personal, customized ride built to please.
The Dodge Viper has come a long way through the years. Indeed, it was already powerful thanks to some great machinery and technology. With the latest addition of the 2008 series, improvements have made the already performance heavy vehicle even more powerful. It’s hard to tell how many speeding tickets one would get as a result of having so much power, but with a vehicle looking this nice it probably isn't a problem if the owner could pay for the 2008 Viper.
The price may be uncertain but it almost certain to be over the six figure mark. With that kind of price tag, few will get to enjoy the new Viper’s performance and style but those who can will have an amazing experience.
