The best feature of the GMC hybrid, the 2-mode system comprises of one mode for highway driving and another for city driving.
According to GMC, the 2008 Yukon Hybrid can deliver a 25% improvement in fuel economy.
Powered by the Vortec V8 engine, the Yukon Hybrid is capable of handling 6,000 pounds. In order to balance the weight on this hybrid system, some of the components like the front and rear fascias, the hood, and grille, have gone through some radical changes.
The first mode helps the 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid to cruise smoothly at lower speed with lighter load.
In this mode, the Yukon’s hybrid system operates on only electric power or in a combination of electric and gasoline engine power. According to GMC, the Yukon can operate on only electric power for longer durations.
