Cool Cars You Can Buy
Aston Martin Virage
Slotting in between the DB9 and DBS, the new coupe uses the same platform and V12 engine, this time tuned to produce 490 hp and 420 ft-lbs. of torque. It looks almost the same, too.
Ferarri FF
The prancing horse's new car is their first with four wheel drive. It also has four seats and a shooting brake rear end: If you aren't up on your British car slang, that means it looks like the world's biggest hatchback. It will replace the 612.
Pagani Huayra
Sure, the Huayra looks a lot like the Zonda it is replacing, but it's also the first Pagani that will be sold in North America.
Porsche Panamera S Hybrid
$95,000 for a 333 hp V6 hooked to a 47hp electric motor for an expected 34mpg average ...until you start driving it like a Porsche. It proves yet again that hybrids don't have to be boring.
Cool Cars You Can't Buy Here
BMW Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Estate
These two station wagons are equipped with V8's that make around 500 hp. Who wouldn't want one? Americans, apparently.
Gumpert Tornante
The Apollo stunned the automotive press with both its amazing performance and unbelievable ugliness. The Tornate cures the later by dumping the ground effects kit excess look for something a bit more stylish.
Koenigsegg Agera R
People might warm to the idea of using ethanol if they put it in a supercar that makes a whopping 1,115 hp and 738 ft-lbs. of torque. 0-60 comes in just 2.9 seconds, and if it's anything like the company's previous efforts the handling should match the breathtaking straight line performance.
The 2011 Keonigsegg Agera R
Morgan Threewheeler
The name says it all: Morgan has revived its three-wheeled V-twin powered line to meet stringent emissions regulations. It would be classified as a motorcycle here which means there's it could potentially reach our shores without cutting miles of red tape.
Cool Concepts
Alfa Romeo 4C
The 8C may have practically been a Ferarri, but this Lotus Elise-like mid-engined coupe could be the car that returns Alfa to the American market.
Jaguar B99
This Bertone-designed RWD extended range hybrid concept hints at what may be a future model to compete with the BMW 3-series. Jaguar has been mum on the subject, but Bertone says they're developing a race car on the platform.
Nissan Esflow
This rear wheel drive electric sports car is a pure concept, but it's the complicated styling that will keep it from production, not the battery technology. Nissan estimates that the Esflow should reach 60mph in under five seconds while managing a 150 mile range.
Volkswagen Bulli
What's could be exciting about a minivan? It looks like VW will finally be bringing us a successor to the Type 2 Minibus. Expect the production model to retain the styling of the concept.
We can look at these new car models and concepts introduced to us at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show and plan which car we want next. You can always depend on the Geneva Auto Show to introduce us to the coolest, fastest and boldest new vehicles.
