(NAPSI)-When your car needs repair, you won't find yourself in a fix if you follow a few simple tips from experts.
Though a recommendation from a friend or neighbor about the quality of repair is always good, probably the surest way to gauge the professionalism of a repair shop or its technicians is to check the walls of their waiting room for technician certification.
In most states, certification is voluntary, so those certificates say, "Our technicians care enough about this industry to spend their time, effort and money to certify as professionals." A powerful statement, in anybody's book.
Virtually every automotive specialty carries its own certification. For transmission diagnosis, repair and rebuilding, for example, no other certification program says more about the shop and its technicians than ATRA's technician certification. ATRA-the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association-is the world's only association dedicated exclusively to the transmission industry. To learn more, visit www.atra.com.
The writing is on the wall: If it's a certification, it's a good indication of quality in an auto repair shop.
