Here are some car detailing tips to help your car shine like new.
Have you wanted to really give your car a good cleaning?
This is called “detailing.”
It goes well beyond the old wash and wax techniques your daddy taught you.
Every professional has their own flare for car detailing. They’ve developed tricks and techniques to make your car shine like the sun.
Now I’m going to tell you how you can get your car to look like theirs.
Car Detailing Tips for the Interior of Your Car
Let’s start with the interior of your vehicle. It’s easier to work your way inside out…that way you won’t lean into your car to vacuum and get your dirty hands all over your lovingly polished exterior.
Start by taking everything out not attached. Take out your garbage, loose change and everything that didn’t come in the car when you bought it.
Pull out your floor mats.
Start by spot treating any stains in your upholstery. Then, take your vacuum and suck up all the dust and crud in all the nooks and crannies.
Slide your seats back and forth and make sure to get all those french fry bits up. Repeat the spot treating and vacuuming process on your floor mats.
Wash the interiors of your windows and use your glass cleaner to polish any chrome on the inside.
Now use a conditioning vinyl cleaner to clean your dash and other respected parts.
Make sure you use the appropriate cleanser or conditioner for each part of your car.
It’s time consuming, but that’s why they call it detailing. Once you’ve sucked, wiped and shined everything on the inside, you can move to the outside.
Car Detailing Tips for the Exterior of Your Car
Working with a freshly washed and dried car, start with your tires. Add some vinyl conditioner to make that rubber shine.
If you have white walls, I found that taking an old toothbrush and some household bleach in gel form made them as white as they were going to get.
Get a glossy wax to shine up your paint.
If you get any wax on your trim, or other parts where wax shouldn’t be, just use a toothbrush to clean it off. If you need something smaller to dig wax out of crevices, get a few cotton swabs. They can also be a useful tool on the inside of your car.
Use glass cleaner on your exterior windows and mirrors. You can also use it on any chrome on the outside, just watch the paint job!
After you’re done, your car should look stunningly clean!
Car detailing is a tedious job, but you’ll get so much satisfaction with the end result.
I like to detail my car at least once a year, especially after the winter season. Treat your car to a day at the spa, detail it!
