Biodiesel is a fuel created by the processing of organic waste, usually vegetable oil, into a fuel that can be used in a standard diesel-engine vehicle.
It provides the same power and economy of use associated with normal diesel fuel distilled from oil, yet with lower emissions of most carbon dioxide gases – not to mention the fact that it can be created from the waste oil thrown away by your local fast food restaurant.
The inexpensiveness of waste vegetable oil combined with the relative ease of converting this oil into fuel has caused many consumers to go the extra step of producing their own bio-diesel at home.
As a result, a cottage industry has sprung up to support those who choose to go this route, providing them with equipment and
know-how. The FuelPod 2 is the product of a company based in England called Green Fuels Ltd. The FuelPod 2 is a home-biodiesel processor that can convert as many as 40 liters of vegetable oil at a time.
Consisting of a titration kit (used for testing the vegetable oil prior to conversion), a safety kit, a drum heater, conversion tank and all necessary plumbing, the FuelPod 2 represents a complete biodiesel-in-a-box solution.
While it may seem a bit extreme to produce your own fuel, the reality is that many consumers do not live in an area where biodiesel stations are common.
Almost everyone, however, lives near a restaurant or food-preparation facility that generates hundreds of liters of waste oil per month, making this system an attractive and economical option given the low cost of purchasing waste oil for conversion.
The FuelPod 2 is also perfect for anyone who is interested in becoming the supplier of biodiesel for their area, as the station can easily produce more fuel than the average person could use.
Given the fact that this type of fuel can also be used in most oil-heating furnaces, the potential market is enormous
