In a world where growing greener has become more and more necessary, it’s nice to know that the world of cars is falling in line too.
With the popularity of 'Hybrid Technology', the demand for these vehicles is growing by leaps and bounds across the world. So naturally, all the big automotive names are falling over themselves to get on to this band wagon. With huge numbers of potential customers, the scene at the hybrid car level is heating up to say the least.
The 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid, the third in Toyota's Hybrid vehicle line, is one of the newest to be added to the 2007 hybrid car list. The Camry Hybrid offers the fuel economy of a four-cylinder engine, with the performance of a top of the line six-cylinder engine.
The Camry Hybrid may not be as fuel efficient as the first Toyota Hybrid that was manufactured, the Prius, but it is much better than the regular Camry.
The Japanese car manufacturer, Honda, has also come out with its own versions of hybrid vehicles, the Hybrid Accord and the Hybrid Civic. They offer what hybrids are famous for – lower emission and fuel consumption.
The 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid combines real environment friendly fuel efficiency with complete luxury. You are still guaranteed to get very good mileage, even with the V6 engine that generates 253 horsepower. One very strong selling point is knowing that you can still get the fuel economy that is in such demand in today's society, along with the power and luxury.
The true essence of hybrid technology is clearly demonstrated in the 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid. Through ingenious engineering, it has earned the Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) rating. This means that you not only get from one point to another using less fuel, but you also help in saving the environment by not adding to the air pollutants.
General Motors has also joined the Hybrid car race in 2007, with its second Hybrid vehicle, the 2007 Aura Hybrid sedan. This vehicle is in competition with the other high-end hybrid cars, like the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Honda Accord Hybrid. Also with a V6 engine, the Aura Green Line is focused on providing the most engine power with the least amount of fuel consumption. It has been claimed by the engineers that it will generate a 20 percent savings in fuel economy compared to the conventional model.
A 2007 Altima Hybrid has also been announced by Nissan who has offered test drives and glimpses of its development vehicle. Nissan has signed a deal with Toyota which will dedicate five years into this project using the Hybrid Technology which was developed by Toyota.
Volkswagen has been rumored to be unveiling its first hybrid model, although it has not been disclosed which model will be using the technology. Both the Jetta, for the top-engine level and the Passat for the four-cylinder class have been suggested.
As more vehicle manufacturers understand the potential of hybrid vehicles, it is inevitable that soon every car produced will be using hybrid technology. These cars will receive a very warm welcome from consumers concerned with ever increasing oil prices as well as the overall well-being of the environment.
