One of the most annoying car repairs is the replacement of a broken tail light or a broken turn signal.
Sure small scratches or bumper smudges are of equal irritation, but of all the small nuisances, the broken taillight or turn signal is king.
The good news is that this little job is an easy do-it-yourself mission.
What You Will Need:
New tail light or turn signal cover
Screwdriver (Phillips) or socket and ratchet
Don't worry, it's an easy repair to make.
Step 1:
Purchase the replacement lens. Know your vehicle’s year, make, and model; also what kind of light cover you need, and its location (i.e. a left rear tail light for a 2000 Ford Focus 4 door sedan). Armed with this information, visit your local auto parts store for the purchase.
Step 2:
Remove the screws that hold in the broken light cover. Usually this requires just a Phillips screwdriver and can be done quite easily. On some cars, you may need a socket and ratchet. Don’t lose these screws, as you will need them to fasten the new light cover.
Step 3:
Install the new lens cover, fastening it tightly in place with the screws.
Voila!
That’s it, you’re done! See, that wasn’t so bad, now was it?
