The Buick Lucerne – The New Sporty Look

It’s got a super new sporty look and is more powerful as far as its engine goes. This 292 horsepower 4.6L Northstar V-8 engine makes the Buick Lucerne a much more powerful sedan.

The Buick Lucerne has a four-speed automatic transmission and can seat five though the CXL and CX versions can seat six with an extra front bench seat.

The seats can be heated and cooled. You get much greater control over the car thanks to the StabiliTrak stability control system as well as the new high end steering gear and the magnetic assist.

The calibrated Magnetic Ride Control makes sure Lucerne gives a good ride on the road, minimizing the effect of bumps and providing for a smoother, more enjoyable ride.

The safety features of the Lucerne 2008 include an anti-skid system, blind-spot alert, lane-departure warning and airbags - both front and curtain side. The car has a theft-deterring system and the tires are 225/60R16 with alloy wheels.

What strikes the eye at first sight of the 2008 Buick Lucerne is the bright new chrome waterfall grille and the exclusive premium all-weather aluminum tires. You have a choice of four colors - Gold Metallic, Sharkskin, Dark Mocha Metallic and White Diamond. The interior could be in cocoa/shale or ebony. The Lucerne's instrument panel is leather-wrapped and the instrument panel has a unique finish.

The steering wheel is real wood and can be heated. Lucerne has a power tilt and telescoping steering column. The wheel and the shift knob are Walnut Burl-finished and you have front chrome sill plates and perforated suede fabric inserts for the leather seats.

The floor mats are special Buick-embroidered ones. Besides the air-conditioning and the air filter, you also have power windows, power mirrors, satellite radio, AM/FM/CD/MP3 player, rear defogger and a 6-way power driver seat.
The prices range from $26,245 to $35,845 depending on which model you choose.

The Buick Lucerne comes with three standard packages: Driver Confidence, Luxury and Comfort and Convenience. The XM Satellite Radio and Harman Kardon audio system as well as the OnStar’s Directions and Connections with Turn-by-Turn voice-guided navigation are also standard equipment.

Mpg for the Lucerne is around 15.4 in-city and 22.4 on the highway. The cars use the regular-grade fuel. In the CXS version, sensors detect the bumps and adjust the suspension accordingly so the ride is generally smoother.
