The Volvo Recharge Concept was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Blending innovation and green technology, the new car is a hybrid that is rechargeable. The Volvo C 30 is designed to drive for 100 Kilometers or 62 miles solely on battery power, and then the rechargeable batteries and electric wheel motor needs to be plugged in and recharged.
The concept is phenomenal and will save the environment over half of the toxic emissions experienced with other cars. Making things even simpler for today’s modern commuter, the C 30 is charged by using a simple electrical outlet.
Since many people drive fewer than sixty-two miles per day, many won’t need to recharge their vehicles during a typical day, but can ensure that their vehicle recharges during non-use hours.
This makes the Volvo Recharge Concept time friendly and non-invasive to the owner’s personal schedule. Owners will not only benefit by saving time, they will not need to fuel their cars as often as their conventional vehicle driving counterparts will.
This saves the environment from harmful pollution, but is also cost friendly for the driver. Simply put, the Volvo Recharge Concept is a much more affordable alternative than conventional fuel powered vehicles.
The Volvo Recharge Concept is also considerably less expensive to operate than petrol powered vehicles. Even the tires have been designed to be especially earth friendly as they are specifically designed to meet the needs of the wheel motors, enhancing the environmental benefits.
When considering the amount of time that it takes to recharge the battery, you’ll see that the Volvo Recharge Concept truly is not invasive. It will take roughly three hours to completely recharge the vehicle for sixty miles; so half of that time would give you thirty miles worth of driving if you charged the vehicle for an hour and a half.
The convenience is abundant as you can easily charge the vehicle anywhere there is an electrical outlet. The main difference between the Volvo Recharge Concept and pure hybrid vehicles is that the Volvo Recharge has been designed to be operated purely from the electrical battery.
With the C 30, there is no mechanical connection involved. The wheels and the engine run purely from electrical charge. Additionally, the Volvo Recharge Concept doesn’t forfeit speed for convenience. The Volvo Recharge Concept can go from 0-62 in nine seconds and its top speed has peaked at 100 miles per hour.
