What Is the California Fuel Cell Partnership

If you are concerned with preserving the environment and reducing harmful gas emissions, you may already be aware of the California Fuel Cell Partnership.

For those of you who are not familiar with this growing organization, I’m going to explain a little more about exactly who they are and some of their main objectives.

Who Are They?

The California Fuel Cell Partnership contains 34 diverse member organizations, ranging from energy providers, government agencies, auto manufacturers and fuel cell technology companies.

All of these groups work together in an effort to promote the availability and popularity of vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Members participate in activities such as community outreach, training and developing protocol standards to enhance awareness of the current technology.

The staff of the California Fuel Cell Partnership consists of 14 individuals located in offices throughout Los Angeles and Sacramento, California. Many project teams and standing committees are formed by staff of the 21 full-time and 13 associate members of the organization.

The decision-making body is called the Steering Team which contains one representative for each full-time member. Their responsibility is to decide collectively on the organization’s goals and objectives.

What Is Their Goal?

The main goal of the California Fuel Cell Partnership is to change the future of transportation by encouraging consumers to purchase energy-efficient fuel cell vehicles.

These types of vehicles greatly reduce the number of harmful greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. In some cases, the vehicles produce zero pollution and eliminate harmful emissions entirely!

Their efforts will result in greater energy efficiency and help us achieve a brighter future based on sustainable energy.

Active Member Involvement

Participation in the California Fuel Cell Partnership takes place in numerous areas. For instance, safe and convenient hydrogen stations are built by energy members and fuel cells to power transit buses and other passenger vehicles are designed by members focused on fuel cell technology.

Members involved in the government assist by paving the way for successful demonstration programs that promote a hydrogen-fueled infrastructure. Last but not least, fuel-cell passenger vehicles are tested in actual driving conditions and demonstration programs by members of the automotive industry.

Community Events

The California Fuel Cell Partnership participates in many community events throughout the year.

Some of these include attending various car and transportation festivals, education conferences and auto shows. They also host public tours of their facility so others can learn more about their important organization.
