Stockton, California (PRWEB) June 2, 2007 -- A new sportsman racing website at http://www.SportsmanOnly.com is staging help for sportsman racers to help offset rising fuel costs. Sponsors offer special discounts on racing products and give members a place to promote their racing efforts.
Greg Boutte' and Glenn Kern, two Northern California racers, have built a member's profile section into the new site, which allow racers to add personal racing information and list their existing sponsors. "We've talked to a lot of racers, and they all agree that they want a place to tell their story. Most don't have the time or resources to build their own site, so we did it for them," says co-creator Glenn Kern.

In 2006 NHRA Division 7 Super Comp class, during the first round of the national event, Greg's car incurred motor problems and was unable to continue. The call went out to the pits for help. Anthony Bertozzi, from Virginia, offered to let Greg borrow a car. Anthony had never met or heard of Greg Boutte', all he knew was that another racer needed his help.
When Greg got home with no way to contact Anthony to thank him, "I called Glenn and said 'What do you think of this idea'," says Greg. "We wanted a place that people could contact racing friends or just say thanks and congratulate fellow racers."
Racers for more than 25 years each, Greg and Glenn have a real passion for this sport. "We both love racing, so this isn't really work. We enjoy everything about it. If we can help our fellow racer, then we have accomplished what we set out to do," Greg said. Boutte' says racers can send stories that they want to share with the world, mention sponsors' products or services, or just say "good job" to a fellow racer.
The "Sportsman Only" site has attracted major racing advertisers Computech Systems, Dennis Taylor Motorsports, Figspeed, Hoosier Racing Tire, Hughes Performance, K & N Filters, Lucas Oil, Pit Pal Products, Sirius Satellite Radio, Specialty Fasteners, American Wireless, and Country Motor Trailer Sales. Sponsors offer discounts to members on products. The monies saved exceed $300-$500 annually for the average racer and will help offset travel expenses getting to and from racing venues.
Only a few months old, http://www.SportsmanOnly.com has already been featured on Drag Race Central. "We look forward to being involved with all venues of motorsports such as boats, tractor pulling, motorcycles and go karts. As long as you are a sportsman racer, we want you on the site," says Boutte'.
