I have been to autozone and napa autoparts for information on a part on my gas tank. Nobody has any answers as to what it is called or where i could get a replacement. It is located on the top of my gas tank towards the rear of the vehicle. It is not the fuel lines or pump. It is some sort of float which id imagine would relieve pressure from the tank. I want to replace it but need information. Help please.
I have an 1988 Ford Ranger 2.9L. Old truck nobody seems to know about.
Any information and help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Does it have a line or hose connected to it? Does it screw into the top of the tank?

Your probably describing the vapor/roll over valve. The hose is supposed to connect to a metal line that goes to the charcoal canister.
