Hi! Vehicle: 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5 Problem: I was opening the trunk and the trunk/deck lid panel detached from the car! I pushed it back in place, but now it's not flush against the car. I'm worried water will get in and mess up the electrical. How can I repair this myself? Any help would be useful. Thank you so much! The piece is 84810M according to Nissan parts. Please see photo below:

The part is likely broken and will have to be replaced. It will have to be painted before installing. I don't think you will have any leak problem in the meantime. The framework of the part is likely still attached to the trunk. The part should be attached from inside the trunk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thank you so much for your quick response. I was hoping there would be a cheap and easy fix (like molding tape). No good?

No, I expect it is bolted on and just broke away from the bolts.

Wonder if you can now get just that used and with some luck the same color? If not and it's just that lifting piece it might look fine with another color like a silver or flat black would be easy enough. Dang plastic stuff just doesn't hold up to time, heat, cold or like paint on it so easily for the long run, T
