Hi all, I'm on the ropes with purchasing a vehicle that was on a collision (I know, I know. Just don't bash me!) The truck is in great shape, kind of. I viewed it a handful of times and test-drove it twice. The passenger side of the rig was hit and left some nasty damage. Nothing that's not fixable, right? Just want to know what you guys think and how much you say it would cost me to fix? Sorry for my english I am french speaker from Quebec Canada. http://autoforums.carjunky.com/photos/pic/309O81Ql/1095.jpg http://autoforums.carjunky.com/photos/pic/309O81Ql/1096.jpg http://autoforums.carjunky.com/photos/pic/309O81Ql/1097.jpg

The damage appears superficial But > why is insurance not repairing this is there a TOTALED tittle? > Why is the dealer not snatching this up... > repair cost? and add a sizable contingent fund. What is the asking price? Your English is fine and clear. dieu sauve la reine

I hope you're really buying this at the right price because I can see about $5000 in obvious damage, not counting the usual hidden damage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

right now the vehicle is listed for 21,995$ canadian but I feel like there is slight room to negotiation, 21,995 is good compared to average market asking price which can range from 30 to 40 thousand dollars.

Also realize that the new value of this fixed will NOT be the value of the same that it never happened to by quite a bit. The question already brought up is why didn't insurance have this fixed then for sale strongly suggests all costs plus reduced "fixed" value and risks if fixed exceeded doing so. Here would come with a "Salvage" title which is the document ownership. In turn GM wouldn't be responsible for any future recalls. Can't be a steal to get these if in the biz of fixing them and want the thing, T

I would have a local body shop and your mechanic check it out before you buy it. That way you really know what your getting into. The small fee to pay for them to look it over completely will save you lots of money if this happens to be a major ordeal. You will also have estimates from those places to negotiate the price. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
