Hello everyone,

A few months back, I was involved in an accident where I accidentally hit the back of a 2020 Mazda BT-50 while driving my 2010 Ford Fiesta.

I received a repair quote from the other party, amounting to $4400 AUD. Personally, this seems quite steep considering the visible extent of the damage. I however lack expertise when it comes to cars. Could I kindly request some assistance? I've attached the repair quote and images showcasing the damage. Your input on whether this quote is reasonable or if I'm potentially being overcharged would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

It does seem a bit bloated. Unfortunately body work is expensive.
The best thing to do is that your insurance handle it, they're pros at dealing with loaded quotes

I wish but unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover this...
I only had third party insurance at the time. Lesson learned I now have full cover 😂

I'd take a few of those part numbers to the dealer and see what their price is.

I just had a family member get dinged on our street by someone backing out. It's a very small dent on the drivers rear quarter panel & bumper. Its about the size of a large mans palm. It's so small it really doesn't show up when I tried to take a pic of it.

I saw it and figured, it's small but body work is expensive so probably 3 to 5 hundred but into todays market I"ll say a grand and be high.

Here is the estimate

His biggest expense is about 3 or 4 expensive parts. If those prices are real, there's not much that can be cut from the estimate.

I'm affiliated with a shop that does body work and you just cannot imagine the cost of the paint materials. A gallon of quality undiluted clear coat is over $700. The paints are just as expensive.
