Bumper Cover scrape Sign In

2008 Chevy Impala
My son backed into an Impala today. There are no dents, but a 3 inch long scrape on the bumper cover. Can this be fixed by an auto detailer, or does it need to go to a body shop?

Re: Bumper Cover scrape Sign In

This is a rubber bumper. If it has a gouge in it, then replacing the bumper is probably your only option.

IMO it needs close inspection by a body shop. It may look small like a scratch but have sprung back and left dented/damage unseen. Have seen "detail" make things LOOK lots better but know what you are getting and want,

It can however be repaired, but still depends how extensive the damage is. You can sand the damage of just make sure to use the finest grit.
