Hello everyone, I have a Toyota Tacoma that has been wrecked and been rebuilt. Took it to the shop to have the front end aligned and was told that the frame had a slight diamond in it, and it needed to be straightened out. So I’m just curious as to how long it would take , or a rough estimate on how much this was going cost. Also what would have to be removed from my truck to do the frame adjustment.(the truck is completely put back together and I am driving it). Any info would be appreciated. It an 2008 Toyota Tacoma 4x4.

Arggh - if this was to be fixed the frame should have been straightened first not after fitting new body parts if so now will not necessarily line up when frame is straight! How much isn't known as it has to be inspected in person while on the machine that can do that or declared not practical at all. Almost all truly bent chassis or unit body type of frame if more than the slightest touch off would total a vehicle and render it "salvage only" used for parts or some fixed up most do or should have a title marked that it's no longer close enough to original to be issued a new VIN # and disowned by the vehicle maker for any recalls forever. Around me most body shops send these out if to be fixed. Yes a machine measure the distances between known markings and can bend it back to a point. If need or want to ask local body shop if they do that or where they send vehicles that need something that extreme. Most already said will be given up to parts only and valued as such no matter how well it looks and is after a complete fix it's marked forever as was damaged beyond it's whole value to warn buyers of what they are getting which may not be worth it still now even if it looks OK and drives may not be a street legal vehicle? It needs to be checked with machines most in trade don't even have so ask around who does, T
