Fixing scuffs from exiting garage Sign In

So, I scrapped the heck out of my getting out of the garage after being parked in. There are white scuffs with stringy stuff hanging off of them in places. I think it is vinyl from the garage itself.

I got a buffing compound and a polisher, but now I’m not sure if they’ll make it better, or make it worse. Any advice appreciated. Did I get the wrong thing(s)? Is this a pro job only?

Dump the buffer. Just get some fast drying lacquer thinner and pour some on a rag. The color should wash right off without harming the car.

Just be careful not to make it worse the paint is probably "ON" the car's from a door? Can't know, you're looking at it and the garage.

No abrasives yet a fav is slower Maguire's cleaner/wax at least won't harm car's finish will dissolve other paints - newspaper or similar might help?

"Measure twice, cut once" new paint job on car isn't cheap!

No, just wash it off with lacquer thinner. It will wash right off with no harm to the car.

Thank you both. I will look for the laquer thinner, and proceed with caution.

You don't have to worry. The car has a hardened clear coat.
Just pour it on the rag and wash off the marks and then let it evaporate. Don't leave the thinner on the surface any longer than necessary.
