Help me fixing my left mirror

Help me fixing my left mirror

Hello
I have Toyota Corolla 2002, and I recently lost my left side mirror and here is how it looks like it.
I initially called several places to get it fixed, but it seems way too much so I am thinking about fix it by myself. It looks like my mirror is the only thing gone (panel and everything is there).
I was curious if I can just buy a left mirror part (such as link deleted), and do the similar fix as link deleted? Would it be okay or is it too dangerous to attach the mirror like that (like attaching the mirror by adhesive pad...would it be strong enough to do so)?
Do I need to completely change the left mirror (including the shell like link deleted
Could you please help me/advice me on what to do?

I mean I am curious if I need to replace the complete left mirror (including shell) or if I can just put a mirror only (mirror itself with adhesive pad or so in that panel)?
I am only missing a mirror in there but I am quiet sure by putting a glue/adhesive pad is strong or safety enough to do so.

the adhesive often comes with replacement glass - if not ask auto store part clerk for a recommendation - most likely a clear silicone should do it.

Ok Thank you so much,
So in my case (as you see on the picture from the first post), I don't have to really replace the entire shell. I can just put the mirror (with appropriate adhesive/silicon pad) in panel.
That should be okay, right? My biggest concern was if adhesive pad/silicon or whatever gluing the mirror and the panel is safe enough. I mean I don't want the mirror come off while I am driving.

You're assuming that they actually sell just the glass. Some cars they do and some cars they don't especially if it's a heated mirror..

Thanks for the reply.
I am so new to all so I am not sure what it means for heated vs non-heated.
When you say non-heated, that means I can attach the glass using adhesive pad?
If it is heated, then I need to buy a complete part?
Here is my old broken mirror look like
I am not sure what is that black tape or thing for...
Please let me know what I need to do.

No, some mirrors have electric heaters built into the glass to help keep the glass clear.

Oh That,
I am not sure if my car has that feature.
If so, then I should buy a mirror part with heated pad. If not, I should buy a mirror with non-heated, right?
According to that pic, do you think my original mirror is heated?

It usually states it on the glass. When you go to the dealer bring your VIN number and they can tell you what you have.
