Scratch Repair Sign In

Hello,

I have a scratch on my passenger side rear bumper. It doesn't look so much like a scratch as the clear coat over the paint is peeling. I was wondering if this is a repair that I could try by myself or if I should go to a professional. I have attached pictures.

Your pictures didn't show up. The best way is to post them on a photo sharing sight. As far as your problem goes. They are going to have to strip the clear coat in the area and re-apply it. You will need a body shop for that.

It depends on the equipment and experience you have. The advice you have been given is correct. If as your user name suggests you rebuild your own chainsaws, climb and top trees, fix or make what most guys would not try and have a wealth of material and equipment in your shop, you would be one who might do it.
I'll check back for your reply. I'm work on our two ranches now, but I owned a custom paint shop for years. I'll be glad to help and there are guys on this site who have paint under their nails every day, I'll bet they'ed be right there if you have a question.
