Tree limb damage/ hole in roof Sign In

Over the past few days here, we've had some really bad weather. The trees were coverd in thick ice so they got pretty heavy. Well, the weather got so bad that my whole town's power went out and limbs and some whole big trees have been falling all over the place. The night before last, a huge limb fell down from the big tree next to my garage and speared through the roof of my dad's 1967 Chevy Impala and slammed down on top of my 1951 Plymouth (that my grandpa gave me this summer) leaving a huge dent in the roof and cracking both windows on the windshield!!! I have know idea how to fix the hole in the Impala. Any ideas??

Just curious, but would home insurance cover something like that?

I'm afraid you aren't going to learn a trade like auto body repair over the Internet. It takes people years and years to learn that trade. You just need to get it to a reputable Body shop for an estimate.

@ DS - Homeowner's here NO for vehicles. If your neglected and complained about tree broke and damaged a neighbor it would be different.

OP - you really need pro help as it sounds like a real mess. Fix or know it's over for cost to make right. Suks no matter what,

I don't know what's going on with your insurance companies but they will definitely cover a vehicle damaged in your yard by weather down here if the vehicle isn't covered by other insurance.

Have asked and has to be a state by state thing. Car must be insured separately for any peril AND fully registered. Doesn't apply to other non street legal machines HERE.

I never perused chances of getting classic or antique vehicles insured but know you need an appraisal first no after a loss also. Unless a very recent change motor vehicles are separate from other insurance by any damage for any reason as are other collectibles each must be itemized and appraised.
No harm in asking locally for what could be covered. It just stinks no matter how you cut it,
