2009 Audi A6 Avant s-line 2.7TDI Automatic 31,000 miles I want to paint the backs of the mudflaps. (Not the part that gets splattered with road debris). I have deliberately not polished or put any silicone on them for 12 months ready to do this. They are OEM, hard plastic (Like bumper plastic). Colour = Daytona grey. I will mask off the wheel side. What primer do I use? What undercoat do I use? What paint do I use. (additives etc) They will be removed to paint and will be body colour (Daytona grey) I am not a mechanic but am a competent DIY mechanic. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

Not the auto body tech but do assorted things with success like that. Do they just come off to paint them? That would help but not the world. They do make special paints for vinyl and plastic that works pretty good. If real fussy about color match a real auto body supply parts and paint place more commonly used by the trade than the regular public could match it exactly as a liquid or spray can if plain black or white at least around me. For undercoat I use "Paintable Rubberized Undercoat" and make sure you see the word paintable. Regular stuff usually just bleeds thru. Be sure if you paint over that as it's a pill to say the least to remove. Available in clear too, T
