Hi all, any and all help is appreciated. 96 cheverolet Truck 2wd with a 6.5 diesel that has 300,000 miles on it (farm truck). the original problem was a front pass. wheel smoking. I've sinced replaced the master cylinder(which was bench bled first), hydroboost power brake system, the brake line going to the pass. front brakes and the caliper on the same wheel. The truck does have ABS brakes on it. I have tried bleeding the brakes several times and I can not get a firm pedal. The pedal sinks to the floor if pressure is kept on it. thanks for reading and again thanks for any advice.

2 things here................... First, you have ABS which requires an electronic bleed with a professional scan tool to get all the air out of the ABS system. second, the design of these systems are very deceiving when is comes to recognizing a good pedal. You will find that even when the system is fully bled, the pedal will seem spongy when pushing hard on it from a parked position, however you will find that when the truck is moving it will not require anywhere near that amount of pedal pressure to stop the vehicle. On another note, you should always replace brake parts in pairs, not just one side. You also need to make sure all the caliper slide are free and working properly. One last note, make sure you have the correct caliper for that side of the truck. Make sure the bleeder screw is higher than the feed line. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

And I would hazard to guess the "professional scan tools" are not cheap? lol thanks for the advice tho, I think I will replace the other caliper as u suggested and then take it to the shop and have them take a look at it. thanks again

Good plan The scan tools aren't too bad. They start around $5,000 and can go as high a $100,000. You don't need more than one though.
