ABS Unit replacement cost

Hi, My Hyundai, Getz abs unit recently got damaged due to fire (do not know the reason for fire  ). Now I need to replace it with brand new one and this will cost me around Rs 70k (1200 USD) including labor. I am thinking whether I can remove the abs unit and run my car as a normal car without abs. I do not want to spent this much money on my 10 year old car. Thanks

You may be able to operate the vehicle if the damage is mainly electronic as long as the hydraulic lines remain in tact but you certainly can't remove the lines.
