Brake Pads In wrong way - Can I fix or Do I need to rebuy? Sign In

Hi Everyone,

I changed my brakes out on my 2012 Ford Expedition about 2 months ago.

it was running fine for a few days but then started hearing some a high pitch squealing noise when I would brake.

I have been reading and looking online and they say this can happen when you put the brakes on wrong.

I do remember while changing the brake bads that I put the side with the ears incorrectly, I am going to fix it, but I wanted to know if I can just put them in the correct order or would I need to buy new brakes?

I think i did it on both sides.

I don't know what you did there but you probably should leave the brake repairs to the professionals. That's not an area to be experimenting.

Agree. If that was only a screech sensor for wear it really wouldn't matter but making noise already at 2 months you screwed up more than that. Just a pad slap in pads will usually make noise and not work properly. Lack of lube to parts and know where.

Not for OTJ training + you don't just push back pistons to make room and if you didn't know that please stay away from doing brakes,

T
