I have a 1956 1/2 ton panel truck, 69 351w, mustang ll fron clip withba 78 mercury AOD I'm working on. I have installed a new disc brakes all around. The rear disc brakes are from a 78 Cadillac and the front disc brakes are from a 78 Malibu. I installed a new booster, adjustable proportioning valve, and a new master cylinder that are from a 87 mustang. I cannot get the pedal to build pressure. The brake works but they only catch at the bottom of the pedal which is not safe. Yesterday I adjusted the push rod that comes from the booster and it made no difference. There are no leaks because I'm not losing fluid when I pump it several times on different days and occasions. I have done a complete 110% visual inspection with no results. Any ideas

As a rule we don't get involved in Frankenstein projects but your problem sounds like the master cylinder is too small and doesn't have the volume capacity to operate the larger calipers.
