Initial Pull

Hi,
Got a 90 Silverado that just started doing this. When I stomp on the brakes it initially pulls to one side, but then evens out.
Could this be a sticking proportional valve? Or mechanical?

Not the proportioning valve as that's front to rear. More likely..... 1. freezing caliper, lube of caliper, brake hose on the list, brake pads unevenly worn because of this, contaminated with grease or something. Gotta plain look. If anything is different one side to the other for a 1990 if not done recently I'd throw the book at it - not as pricey as you might think IMO,

I just put new pads and calipers on a year or two ago and lubed everything up. I only drive it 10x per year.

Don't assume anything just because it was previously worked on. My suspicions would be with the rubber flex hoses. Very common problem.

feverdog: Ditto - just because it was done somewhat recently isn't a sure thing. Calipers are rebuilt and who knows how well or what the core they used was like?
Flex hoses should go just because IMO. Do yourself a favor and put PB on the connection to flare nut line and all right now so you have a good chance of it not breaking there or twisting up the brake line if still good. If not good anyway get rid of them before a surprise blow out.
Remember do both sides equally. It's pulling so you have your warning something isn't right,

Meant to say thanks to you guys sooner. Put new flex lines on and it fixed the problem. Still not sure how a flex line can make it pull to one side, but apparently it can.

It can and does a lot. The inside liner ruptures and restrict the hose in both directions.

You should also check for loose steering or suspension parts. Worn out control arm bushings or tie rod play can cause that too.
