Stuck rotor Suzuki Esteem Sign In

I can't get the rotor off. I tried a hammer and then the bolt technique. I only bent it a little but it didn't come off. Am I missing something? (of course, I first took off the caliper and the caliper mount). Thanks in advance!

I think they welded them on back in the 1950's.

How about the hold down screw/s that hold the rotor on?

Re: Stuck rotor Suzuki Esteem Sign In

What is the obvious problem - rusted or just stuck as this would have a tight rotor to hub. A maybe is there are #3 Phillips screws that you about must use an impact driver to remove. Some may require a bolt thru a threaded hole and you won't just beat those with a hammer to remove.

What did you bend already - the rotor and if so it's gone which is why you are there. Dang - easy sport - use a rubber hammer as needed for some to get it rocking.

Sorry I don't the exact style it's just apparent when you are looking at them. If just down to rusted stuck they can be a real pest or if you stripped out a bolt hole to pull with it's more troubles,

I don't see any screw on the front side, just two little empty holes. I have a picture but couldn't figure out how to upload it (I uploaded it to the system that pops up when clicking on "Upload Photo" but couldn't get it to show up in the actual message).

I think it is rusted. In fact, it was hard to get the wheel off too. I had to loose the bolts and drive the car for the wheel to come off. So, I guess the same problem applies to the rotor, unless it is attached to the hub somehow I can see...

Re: Stuck rotor Suzuki Esteem Sign In

Rust is a killer as said. If you see two opposing holes they should be threaded but if that's all rusted and gone it will be a pest as said. Heat is not a good choice on a hub!

PB penetrating oil works but can take some time. You may have to waste some bolts that might get a grip if forced and that style was opposing holes so you would do each some so it will remove and not go cock eyed and restuck.

I hear you and not uncommon for a wheel to get stuck too but driving it if I understand you with lug nuts loose is NOT the answer!
