1992 Camaro Z28 Engine Problem

Its the tune port injection motor (tpi). The car runs fine at first, but when I first crank it up it idles up and down by itself. Then when the motor warms up when I'm driving it, and I'm wanting to accelerate, it starts bogging and the rpm's bounce up and down and the car don't want to go. It idles up and down by itself no matter what, but like I said. It only does the other thing when the car warms up. Just replaced the tps sensor, new plugs and wires. But it didn't help.

How do I do that? The service engine soon light comes on and goes off from time to time.

You can either have them read by a shop that has an OBD1 scan tool or you can read the flash codes by jumping terminals A & B of the diagnostic connector and turning the key on.

Okay I did that with a paper clip. Gave me the code 22. Which says tps sensor voltage low. I just replaced it. So could it be the harness that it plugs into? And would that be giving me all this trouble?

Yes, it could be anything associated with the TPS circuit to include the sensor, all related wiring, the ECM or mechanical issues with the throttle body.

We don't arbitrarily replace parts we haven't tested.
We systematically test the circuit until the issue is found. You can monitor the TPS voltage with a scan tool or DVOM but you need to understand how the circuit works to do that.
I can get you a wiring diagram for the TPS but I first need the 8th digit of you VIN#.

There is only so much info you can get in a forum. If you don't understand the system, then you need to have someone do this for you. All I can do is supply the needed tools.
