I have a 2000 Chevy S10 4.3L V6 Vortec Engine (4WD) that while driving in 2hi, the truck will make a hum/whine sound out of the blue, when it is in 4hi the sound stops, when the truck is back in 2 hi the sound is back. The sound is coming from the front end of the truck on the drivers side. Just want to know what i should look for?? thanx

Not sure by any means because you’re saying the noise stops when in 4W but possibly a wheel bearing?
Maybe when in 4W, the load of the drive train, on the bearing; stops the noise? Like I said not sure; would almost have to hear it.
