I went through a puddle of water and ever since that day, it makes a funny noise like if it was a motorcycle. its kind of embarrassing so help me!!!! The mechanic in town isn't sure what could be the problem. What is the problem?

Possibly something cracked or broke involving exhaust system. When not too hot you could try plugging up the tail pipe with a rag and see if the noise really shows up then to test for that. Hey, if the mechanic who is there can't try something like that as a test or find an obvious noise I don't know what to do with a keyboard!!
