2002 Chrycler T+C 3.3L Broken Plastic Hose	Sign In

While replacing the power steering reservoir on my 2002 Town and Country, I noticed while running the engine afterwards to check for moaning that there was a hissing sound coming from the engine, as though air was leaking out or being sucked in.

Turns out, it was being sucked in. A thin, very fragile plastic hose had broken off. The line connected with another larger rubber hose at a Y connector before continuing to the engine head. In the other direction, it went into a rubber T-connector, which ran out one side with another identical plastic hose (this ended up getting broken as well while my father tried tracing the line to find out what it was.)

On the engine side of the break, the hose is sucking in air which, because of how thin it is, results in a loud hissing sound. The link below is an image of the engine with the hose circled in red.

I would like to know both what the part is and if the vehicle is still safely drive-able while this is broken. Thanks in advance!

If you have a broken line causing a vacuum leak you need to simply repair it using some tubing but don't drive it that way.

I couldn't make the pic show? Is this hose like plain stock hose or molded to a shape with unique ends? If so you may need a dealer to get right hose or as HT already said make up something but consider HEAT.

IDK - losing the best of hardware stores but used to have plastic hose by the foot on rolls and it stated it's temp ratings, tolerance to fuel or fuel vapor (sometimes) and so on. Maybe copper flexible or a section of brake line/fuel line could do. Can always bring broken one to a good parts store for ideas on what or if a replacement kit exists?

Same with HT - don't drive it hissing away like that,
