I have a 2002 towncar that has 113,000 on it and it runs good but has recently started making a loud vibrating noise that is coming from the area were the EGR valve is on the top of the intake on the side of we're the carb would be if this car had one. It vibrates enough I can feel it when it does it. That being said it does it once in a wile. No engine lite on. I opened the air breather and it sounded like it was coming out of it Any help will be greatly appreciated

Probably needs a hooter tube, if it is broken, or the IAC valve has a weak spring in it causing a moose call in the intake ducting. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Ok I went to school 25 years ago as a mechanic and went a different direction as a career. Help me out we're is the hooter tube and the spring I believe I understand. Is in the valve on the side of the throttle body. It does sound like a moose call. Exactly. Thanks

The spring is part of the IAC (idle air control) motor: the hooter tube plugs into the nipple on the IAC and goes to the intake duct. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

You don't have to remove the intake plenum. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
