2004 Toyota Corolla making loud noises when stopped

Just the other day I went to drive my 2004 toyota corolla and when I went to shift from park to drive my car sounded like a lawnmower... When I hit the gas the noise continued up until I hit close to 15mph and once I'm driving the noise stops...originally when the problem first began if I was even stopped at a red light this noise was happening until I began driving again but I went and added a gas additive and now the noise doesn't occur when I'm stopped at a light only now when I turn my car on and shift into drive and begin to accelerate up until around 15mph. My mileage is about 148000 miles. Any ideas?

If CEL find out as DS suggested. I'm thinking exhaust flex pipe, heat shields or motor mounts so far. 148K you better be right on top of all service items too,

No check engine light. A friend was helping me look at it and the noise isn't very noticeable from the outside but is very loud inside the car

Without hearing the noise for ourselves, all we can do is guess. Have you inspected the exhaust system for leaks. Maybe the muffler fell off or the flex pipe cracked.

Do you feel vibration with this noise? If so, I would check motor/trans mounts. You can use a floor jack and a block of wood to take the weight of the engine/trans off the mounts and see if the noise/vibration goes away.
