Hi,

2018 Vitara

At first when we bought this car it was good based on it price and size. Then after a year, we notice that our rear wheels
are getting worn easily compared to our front wheels, to think that the Vitara is front-wheel drive, it should be the other way around.
The technician from Suzuki Tarlac(where we bought the car) said that the "torsion beam" is a factory defect and I was glad that you replaced it.
Then that was the start of the annoying noise that is coming from the rear wheel as seen on the video I attached. Its been a year now since we go back and forth to the dealer(Suzuki Tarlac) and up to now they can not figure out the problem. They have tried dismantling the "Torsion Beam" and putting back again, but still, the sound is still there. One time they told us that it is the "brake rotor" and we paid for the machine shop that they did, but still the annoying sound is still there.

I am not a technical guy, but I think if there is a strange sound that our car is producing is a warning that something is wrong that sound be fixed immediately than to have a bigger problem if neglected. I hope you could help us fix this problem.

the sound is more like a farting sound.

You said you aren't a technical guy so IDK what to say since a dealer for this isn't finding it in person?

IMO this bull with machining a brake rotor to eliminate a noise is a mess. They don't cost much nor have extra metal to do that anymore for most anything.

If you could just hoist this, all 4 wheels best maybe, then turn wheels by hand, remove them and inspect them for damage or a flaw.
A rear rotor probably was NOT but a backing plate might be with whatever recall work was done there?? That plate isn't that strong most will bend by mistakes working on it and most just bend back to quit rubbing on brake parts I just think that's what you are hearing.

How many miles on it? Brake's life, wear wise is driver's habits IMO plus just miles of use. Rear wheels/tires being worn is lack of rotating tires on time more than a problem but could be.
An independent shop that specializes in 4 wheel alignments would check whole thing to see if it could be done or parts worn/bent/damaged need to be fixed first and I suggest you go that route.
You may need new tires if 2 are wrecked or not close to the rest nothing but 4 new ones is going to make it all right again!

I understand your frustration YOU said this isn't your thing to do yourself is too bad (sad) IMO a good tech should just fix this for you it isn't all that old shouldn't be all wrecked unless you bought it that way or not telling something?
Video isn't here don't mess too much with that it probably wont help when a tech or more have already had this in person I/we can't compete with that.

BTW - it's not normal have another if you can't find out what this noise is and check all tires are even along with suspension parts is routine with your complaint,

T

Re: 2018 Suzuki Vitara Strange noise when reversing Sign In

Found a video on generic, brake dust shields and what is somewhat common. It's cheap junk in anything this new so bends easily or damaged easily. Fix will be bend it back or a new one upon inspection of yours.
IMO this new it was damaged by improper handling it's a bit new for rust out.
This shows it and is so common to vehicles both front and rear use these but are costly on many! It's about the caliber of a pie plate on these you'll see it.

They quit making or selling this car but parts would be available for ages still. Just shows you my guess was generic by your description not the type of vehicle at all really.

Click here this should work? Click >> https://www.bing.com/...B797&FORM=VDQVAP <<

Hope that shows. It's not a DIY replacement item IMO but gives you my guess for this,

Tom (sorry that came out huge to click on is blue in my view - touch/click on that)

Tom,
The reason it did that is because it included all the search instructions. When you get to the video if you click on the word "you tube" at the lower right it will take you to the actual video and you can copy the direct link without the Bing search info.

It converted to some shortcut isn't huge now? It was just what I found out there and do in person so much liked that one - low mile, rust or not the things are just too thin and easy to bend, T

I just explained to you what happened.

Your original link included all the search criteria. Like I said, if you click on "you tube" at the video, it takes you to the specific video and the dedicated link without the search criteria.
