1995 3.8 auto trans camero sound coming
from lower end?? just started today never
had any problems with car owned for 3
years. the sound is definitely from lower
end does.not sound like a rod knocking
doesn't have that deep sound more light
sound it sounds like a lifter ticking but at
lower end sounds kinda like when a torque
converter bolts come loose. the sound
comes and goes but when its there it
stays at same pace as engine if I rev it
gets faster. the oil is not low and I don't
drive it rough or dog it. could it be bad
wrist pin? also notice slight movement on
oil pressure gauge but never drops low its
unusual from normal. car runs fine no
loose of power or anything... but sound
just started haven't drove that much.. also
I have always had a problem cranking
right after killing it on like 30 mile trips
like the piston sticking or something motor
won't turnover kills battery trying but if I
let it set for 30 min will crank fine.. don't
know maybe compression issues.. so any
one know what it could be?................ comment deleted.................

The only way you are going to know what is happening with an internal engine noise is to tear down the engine and do a failure analysis.

i have a sugestion.....get a wooden broom stick or a metal pipe.....i use a pipe.....start it up....put it up against the upper and lower engine block and valve covers to your ear..... listen where you suspect the noise is coming from.....increase the RPMs and listen....when you close in on it the volume will increase in the stick or pipe......let us know where its coming from?
