97 Honnda Accord Front Rotors

Changing the rotors on an 1997 Honda Accord Se 4 cylinder. Got the axle nut with a LOT force. Now there are four more nuts in my way. Hard to keep socket on these nuts, they seem to be flanged??, Is there a trick to the job. Socket slides off.

A quick check shows this just uses Phillips head retaining bolts and the axle isn't involved. You may need and impact driver to remove those and rotor just comes off without messing with the hub itself,

Got the four bolts off. Can't get to the rotor, the plate that holds the four lug screws is in the way could it be stuck??

That's the pic I was using to see what you are fighting with. If I'm seeing this properly the four phillips head bolts when out the rotor should be free but may be good and stuck at center and may appear like it's part of the hub which it isn't. Sorry if I'm confused - all makes more sense when you are there yourself just looking at how each car does what.
The tolerance between center of rotor and hub is tight. Any rust can make those look like it's one piece. Look at your replacement to know where it should be coming apart and yes - hammering at old one frequently will be needed. Clean up surfaces so new one sits on just right and flush as it should or it will be trouble.
Use pentrating oil - I like Power Blaster (PB) as we call it. Some are a real fight! Know for sure just where it should separate as to not damage parts you are keeping.
Hope that helps. The hub with the wheel lug studs should just stay put and doesn't need to be removed at all for just the rotor replacement from what I see in those pics,

Yes this the 97 honda rotor, this piece that I am talking about, is round,the end of the axle extentds an inch through it, it holds the four lug screws the rotor itself is loose but is unable to come off the axle because this round plate(?) is preventing it.

Ok: Hub does need to come off as shown in that link, scroll to Accord - sorry. Air tools really help with this stuff with bolts when you can't hold things well. Trick was shown in that link also,
