High idle after warm up and back into park. Sign In

02 Jeep Liberty Sport

I noticed that after starting my car and driving anywhere, if it came out of drive the car would idle very high.

Today I finally found what I think is the problem. A mechanic has cut a wire completely off at the throttle body assembly but I don't know what the wire is or how I can get another to replace it. Here is a photo: https://www.dropbox.com/...3098_189443806_n.jpg

I believe that goes to your IACV (idle air control valve). You will need to buy a new connector pigtail from the dealership and solder/heatshrink new connector into the harness.

Don't know why they would cut it off good chance the IACV is bad or needs to be cleaned too.

Mechanic did that? Backyard mechanic named Goober?

Hopefully those stepper motor wires aren't touching each other because that could fry the IAC drivers in the PCM.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

good point i would make sure the wires in the harness are not touching each other while exposed. This could cause damage to your computer (PCM)
