I have a 1996 Chrysler Cirrus 2.0? and 130,000 miles. I have two different noises. At first it started in the mornings when I started the car it make a squealing noise but it went away after the car warmed up which I assumed was some sort of belt, then the heat stopped getting hot, I had the thermostat replaced Saturday, that did not help the heat at all. This morning when I went out to start my car the squealing noise was back and the car would stay running only if I held down the gas pedal. If I took my foot off to put the car in reverse it would go dead. It also makes a sound sort of like a squeaky door when I drive? Could you please help. Thanks, Amy Riggs

Just a "maybee" that could be both problems: Check belt tension - it might be quite loose and slipping which would likely squeel, AND could cause low ouput from alternator (might run rough) and minimal water flow from water pump. As said, just a maybe as I'm surprised that it charges up enough to restart the next day if so, T
