Hi everybody! I've been driving down a motorway for about an hour and decided to stop at a gas station. When waiting in the line, I have started hearing very strange sounds coming somewhere from the exhaust area whenever the engine was idling - the sound disappeared during acceleration. The car was doing this for around 2 minutes, and then idle returned to normal. You can listen to the sound I've recorded here - https://youtu.be/M-6pc32pzMU Could you please let me know whether I should action this? Thank you!!! The car is Hyundai I30 2009, M/T. The outside temperature was 2 degrees Celsius.

Your exhaust system is touching metal somewhere. What you are hearing is the sound of metal rubbing metal somewhere. Get it up on a lift and they should be able to hear it or find the shiny spot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
