Hai, I have a Ford Laser, 2001, over 200000 km now, automatic. Starts well and runs fine. But after running for little longer (when engine gets heated up I guess), I can hear a sound (like....Tikkkk tikkkkk...) while on gear (R and D), during running and not running. The sound goes off when I put to P and N. Is this anything to worry? It is not there when you start and run for the initial periods..... Seems the sound is coming from the bonnet and probably from the belt....

It could be a belt tensioner knocking on the stops but it really needs to be checked out by a professional. We can't hear it from here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
