i have a 2009 Ford Focus with 29,000 miles on it. recently i noticed an odd noise during acceleration. it is the same whine noise that a car makes when it is low on power steering fluid but it isnt with the steering. whenever i step on the gas and accelerate it makes that exact type of noise in time and level with the acceleration until i level out and am going a steady pace then the sound goes away. it only just started it and im trying to get an idea on what it might be before i go to a mechanic my guess are something to do with either the fuel injection or air intake. any thoughts?

My guess would be a bearing in one of the belt driven components. You just need someone to isolate which one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
