Passenger Side Front-End Noise

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6. Early last week i noticed a loud humming noise coming from the front-end of the passenger side. When the car is in gear and just idling you can't hear it. As soon as you start going 40km/h and over that's when you can hear it. Now today my dad and I put the car on a hoist to where the front-end of the car was off the ground and we had the tires just spinning. After doing that test we were still hearing the noise. Any Idea

Could be a bad hub bearing or CV shaft. Does the sound get worse when you go around a corner one way or another? -------------------------------------------------------- Your only as good as your tools!

No as soon as I slow down the noise starts decreasing but does not get worse when I turn corners

May be wrong but I think this hub bearing is fairly easy to remove and you'd feel in in your hand. A Good bearing makes no sounds at all or feel from spinning but usually will make more noise turning one way or the other while driving along as Mr. Scotty said, T

Try rotating the tires (frt to back) & see if the noise moves.

Bad wheel bearing sounds: Usually a growl like a serious mud snow tire that usually is just one wheel. Can also squeak, plain grinding noise among sounds. By the time one has free play that wheel could fail at any moment and vehicle shouldn't be used till fixed. These noises can fool you too. Could be from other side and feel and sounds transfer to other side seemingly same as some other causes of noises, T
