Hello im new, Ive looked online for this issue everywhere but can only find the normal stuff which ive already tried. -Grinding noise from front right side -only when turning left -gets louder if excellerating in turn -already replaced, axle and wheel bearing. Mechanics cant seem to figure it out. They seem to think the small noise from left axle could be causing the noise. But i can hear and feel its from the front right. Car: 2017 vw tiguan r line. 111000kms. Any help greatly appreciated Steve.

This could be more simple than you expect. Check the backing plate clearance from the rotor. Then run so close than being even slightly bent can make it contact the rotor, especially when turning. This can happen easily when working in the area changing things like a wheel bearing. Mechanics tend to pull on it. Try just pushing the shield away from the rotor slightly for more clearance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Wow! Totally agree with HT "simpler" than thought + unfound by techs? ARE YOU able to take wheel off even if only look? If any KMs before and after w same evidence or see where it's too close would gun rust over if it stopped with a repair still be shiny rotor or shield or plain see it, run stiff thinner paper around. Just push on it see if it stays back or too springy may need rotor off? This really happens, easy to misdiagnose as shaft as it's the same crude symptoms, Tom

I suspected this also. I cant seem to see any rubbing spots. I ordered another guard as it was cheap. Ill see if that does it. I live in a condo not in my home country, so no access to my normal garage. Ill take it to a shop and get them to lift it and have a look myself. Thanks. Ill update.

Backing plate? Some you need to take a lot of stuff out just to bolt on. Ask if not doing it yourself how much to install. LOOK at it + what's in the way they vary how they fit in. If still highly suspect you'd see the flaw now or hidden I suppose possible. Noises are a pest of this sort sometimes it's the other side as sound magically travels?? Tom

Thats what the mechanic suggested travelling sound but i just cannot believe it. Sitting in the passenger seat i can feel the grinding in my feet and ass. The sound is so clearly right side.
