Hi Guys I have a 2000 vauxhall vectra b 1.8 and the problem I have is my car grinds sounds like metal to metal when I turn to the right. I thought bearings so changed them all and done the discs and brakes all around while I was there. The cv and ball joints are ok to I've inspected them. Today I noticed that this only happens when I accelerate and now it squeak accelerating on the straight but when I went down a steep hill freewheeling and around a right hand corner there was no noise at all to be honest I'm totally stumped on this one can anyone help me please? I forgot to mention the noise comes from the left hand side (passenger side) and sounds like its down by the wheel but its not the wheel.

Did you inspect your brake backing plate to be sure it wasn't rubbing on your rotor while turning? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Can you record the noise and post it to a video hosting site and then post the link in here? Maybe hearing the noise may give some ideas? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

We don't have that vehicle here in the states, so don't know the configuration of the power train, suspension, and brake system. How are the engine mounts? Maybe something in the engine bay that rotates is moving around and contacting something on turns? If it comes back, you could see if shutting the engine off makes the noise go away when it is occurring on turns. Just make sure you're at a safe place to do that and you understand that power steering and braking will be affected by the engine not running. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I will take a look at the mounts I read somewhere that can cause a miss balance and maybe it would cause rubbing. Thanks

If your vehicle is equipped, inspect the power steering system and belt(s). Check the fluid level in the reservoir. If it is low maybe on turns or during acceleration it exposes the power steering pump to air? Make sure the belt(s) are in good condition and properly tensioned. Do a good visual inspection. 95% of the time problems can be found just by doing a visual inspection. Well, 95% of the time if you have good eyes...lol Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
