I drive a 98 d escort that has just recently starting making a high pitched squeak whenever braking and while in still accelerating up to about 30 mph then it stops. Turning to the right makes it worse and going left seems to make it stop somewhat. It also does it when hitting bumbs. The brake pads are fine but im not sure what else could be causing it.

You need to have a brake inspection. It sounds like at least one brake pad warning sensors have started to make contact with the rotor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Also sounds like you may have a bad right wheel bearing too. Don't put this off, it needs to be looked at right away.

If the sounds are constantly coming from front wheel while going fast or slow, I belive, it might have worn wheel wearing. It's not abig deal, get it repaired with your local mechanics.

A wheel bearing should be speed related as would be brake noises, Tom
