My wife has a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu with a 3.1L V6 Engine, The "Right Side" or backside cylinders have been making a very loud knock for a while now and it keeps getting worse, I've tried using Lucas Oil Stabilizer and changing her oil every 1500 miles thinking maybe she just needed to clean it out some.

I mean this vehicle has been a decent car, 210k on it, but I was talking to my mechanic buddy, he said its most likely one of a few things, he suggested a second opinion,
1: Camshaft
2: Rocker's need adjusting
3: Cam-Position Sensor

Its not running any codes already had the computer read, and mainly just looking for an opinion as to where to start looking for the issue, before i send it to a shop and pay out the ass for a diagnosis

Can you record the noise and post it to a video hosting site and then post the link in here? Hearing the noise might help give us a better idea what your hearing.

You can cross off adjusting the rockers. They are non adjustable. Don't think I have ever seen a camshaft position sensor make noise on those.

Does this go away as the engine warms up?

It could be a case of excessive piston slap or a wrist pin issue. Usually bearing or valve train noises don't go away or lessen as the engine warms. With the mileage this thing has, probably wouldn't hurt to start pricing engines or possibly a new vehicle if the noise keeps getting worse.
